The Apple TV HD, previously known as Apple TV (4th generation), starts at $149 for 32GB of storage, and $199 for 64GB. It has 2GB RAM, board configuration J42dAP and its firmware identifier is AppleTV5,3. Unlike the previous generation of Apple TVs, developers are able to write native apps for the set-top-box operating system derived from iOS 9, known as tvOS.
The Apple TV HD was announced on 9 September 2015 and released on 26 October 2015 in select markets.
