Beta Firmware

From The Apple Wiki
(Redirected from Beta firmware)

Apple periodically seeds beta versions of its operating systems to developers, beta testers and IT professionals. They may be delivered as IPSWs, as OTA updates, or both. To download and use this software legally, you need to create a free developer account using your Apple ID on developer.apple.com. Before June 5, 2023, beta developer firmwares were only allowed to be installed by members of the Apple Developer Program. Public betas are also offered for users who do not want to install the developer betas. They are offered to those who are enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program, which (just like the developer betas) is free for anyone with a valid Apple ID. IT professionals also have access to AppleSeed for IT beta software, but to access them, they need to sign in using an Apple ID that has access to Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager. The download links provided on the following pages link directly to Apple's servers. Some betas were removed from the servers but download links are kept for archival purposes.
