Conceited Software was a software development team founded by Nicholas Penree (drudge) and Nicolas Lapomarda.
Conceited Software was active in the early jailbreak community, being part of the development and release of the first automated jailbreak tools, in collaboration with the iPhone Dev Team. The team was also known for Linkinus, an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) client for macOS.
On the week of 1 April 2009iPhone Developer Program License Agreement prohibiting interfering with security features of Apple software.[1] jailbreakme.com was replaced with a page stating that it "has been shut down to comply with Apple's latest iPhone developer agreement".[2] Despite this, it continued to own the jailbreakme.com domain. On 1 August 2010 , the domain was reconfigured to allow comex to use it for Star ("JailbreakMe 2.0") and Saffron ("JailbreakMe 3.0").
, Conceited Software ceased its jailbreak community efforts, citing an update to theOn 7 October 2011discovered that the domain had been sold to an unrelated buyer in June 2011 .[3] Following negotiations with the individual, ownership was transferred to saurik the next day.
