This was the earliest unlock which did not rely on SIM hacks, it is variation of the Fakeblank exploit. It involved opening up the iPhone and doing a testpoint on the A17 gate (not to be confused with the A17 processor). Geohot was the first person to perform this hack with the help of gray and iPhone Dev Team members.
