iOS 5 was released by Apple on October 12, 2011. It was a major update to the iOS operating system, introducing many new features and improvements, including:

iCloud - A cloud storage and syncing service that allowed users to store and access their content across multiple devices.

iMessage - A messaging service that allowed users to send text messages, photos, and videos between iOS devices.

Notification Center- A centralized hub for notifications, allowing users to view and manage their notifications in one place.

Lockscreen Info - Lockscreen is a feature that displays stuffs like Time, Date, Notifications , slide to unlock slider and camera shortcuts.


Twitter Integration - Tight integration with Twitter, allowing users to tweet photos, links, and other content directly from their iOS device.

Siri - A virtual assistant that allowed users to perform tasks and answer questions using natural language.


PC Free - Ability to activate and setup Apple devices like iPhone, iPod touch and iPad without connecting it to a computer. The feature was also called “PC-Free Setup” or “PC-Free Restoration“.

Dictation - Dictation was a feature that allowed users to convert spoken words into text. It was supported on iPhone 4S and iPad (3rd generation) devices.

Dictation could be accessed by tapping the microphone icon on the keyboard. Users could then speak, and their words would be transcribed into text.

Dictionary - A built-in dictionary was available, allowing users to look up word definitions directly on their device.

Wireless Software Updates - The ability to update iOS software wirelessly, without the need for a computer.

AirPrint - AirPrint was a feature that allowed users to print wirelessly from their iOS device to a compatible printer.
