MIPACT is a health companion app developed by Apple for the MIPACT study which was being conducted by the team at University of Michigan. The app was released in 2019 on the App Store as Unlisted in order to reach the participants who got enrolled in the program. It helps to share the user’s personal health data’s like Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Pedometer, Motion Measurement, Heart rate measurements, Electro Cardio Graph (ECG) and etc for research purposes in order to improve the biosensors and health information. Opening the app gives two tabs which are the status and diagnostics. Status is part of the app where it displays the users participant ID and study info is located. Diagnostics is the part where the device and sensor data is displayed. The bundle identifier of the app is com.apple.mipactuserstudy and for some strange reason Apple distributed the app in the App Store with a different developer name which was the Apple Health Research, this was also the same apple developer team which distributed the Health & Fitness Recorder in the App Store as unlisted. In 2025 the app was removed from the AppStore without any trace.
