Texas Hold'em is a video game implementation of the poker game of the same name, developed and released by Apple. It is iconic for being released as an iPod click wheel game launch title, before being ported to iPhone OS to become a launch title of the App Store. The initial iPhone OS release served as a demonstration of the iPhone's features, such as gaming on a touch screen, and multiplayer gaming via Wi-Fi. It was praised for its realistic imagery, featuring photographed actors sitting at the table.

As the player progresses through the game, they unlock further playing rooms, which boast "higher stakes and even bigger rewards". The original iPhone OS variant of the game supports Wi-Fi multiplayer, with up to 9 players.[1]

On 12 September 2006 (2006-09-12), the game was released as an iPod click wheel game, priced at US$4.99. On 15 September 2006 (2006-09-15), the game received an update with unknown changes. This original version is noted for having two characters, named "Killer" and "Shark", who appear to be Apple executives Phil Schiller and Greg Joswiak respectively wearing sunglasses.[2]

On 11 July 2008 (2008-07-11), a port of the app to iPhone OS was launched alongside the App Store. It was priced at US$4.99. The app received one update, on 31 August 2008 (2008-08-31), and was never updated with later features such as Game Center or the iPhone 5 display height. It runs on every iOS release with 32-bit app support, from 2.0 through 10.3.4.

Around 30 September 2011 (2011-09-30), all iPod games were discontinued from sale.[3] Around 17 November 2011 (2011-11-17), the iPhone OS variant was delisted from the App Store.[4]

On 8 July 2019 (2019-07-08), the app was re-released for free as version 2.0, celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the App Store. On 9 October 2019 (2019-10-09), the re-release was followed by an update adding support for iPad. The new game supports iOS 12.0 and later.
