visionOS (initially both xrOS and realityOS) is an operating system created for Apple Vision. It works in coordination with the reality coprocessor, which runs a separate operating system based on RTKit, a real-time operating system based on an XNU microkernel developed internally by Apple.
An internal build of recoveryOS was made available to download on 13 June 2023, allowing some analysts to start digging into firmware. At the moment, it is not certain about what details are included in the firmware. The firmware codename is Borealis. The visionOS platform itself is codenamed Wolf.[1]
