Phantom is an app used internally by Apple employees to safely and securely share videos with one another. It is mainly used by corporate employees who design videos and clips for upcoming Apple events, etc. However, it can be used by retail employees as well. Phantom requires an AppleConnect (SSO) account to be able to sign in. What is available to employees through Phantom depends on their job position at Apple. Corporate employees get access to all videos shared through Phantom, while retail employees can only see videos sent out directly by Apple, and or their store manager. When an employee goes to share a video, Phantom generates one of the three custom URL schemes (x-phantom://, phantom://, or phtm://) followed by nine randomly generated numbers, which is then compiled and sent to the recipient. If the recipient has Phantom installed on their device, they can tap on the URL to instantly open it in Phantom, or alternatively, paste the link into Safari, which will then redirect them to the Phantom app.

Leaked Link

Shortly before the "Time Flies" Apple Event on 15 September 2020, a Phantom link was leaked which supposedly contained the intro video that was to play at the beginning of the event. Unfortunately, no one who had access to Phantom came forward to verify its authenticity, and the link was never opened. However, the link was leaked by a corporate employee, meaning that the odds of it being an official link are very high.
