HomePod in Space Gray

The HomePod was announced at WWDC 2017 on 5 June 2017 (2017-06-05) and was released on 9 February 2018 (2018-02-09). It is a smart speaker that features AirPlay 2 and Siri, as well as arrays of microphones and tweeters for 360° audio. It runs a variant of iOS (and in later versions, tvOS), called audioOS.

There are two models:

• B238aAP which uses AudioAccessory1,1
• B238AP which uses AudioAccessory1,2

Application Processor

This device uses the Apple A8 system-on-a-chip, which is also found in other devices such as the Apple TV HD, iPad mini 4, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPod touch (6th generation).
